On 21st February 2024 at 14.00 hrs., Her Royal Highness Princess Sirivannavari Nariratana Rajakanya graciously presided over the opening of the 69th Bangkok Gems and Jewelry Fair, jointly organized by The Department of International Trade Promotion (DITP) and The Gem and Jewelry Institute of Thailand (Public Organization) or GIT, at the Queen Sirikit National Convention Center. The opening ceremony was attended by H.E. Mr. Phumtham Wechayachai, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Commerce, Mr. Napintorn Srisunpang, Deputy Minister of Commerce, Mrs. Nuntawan Sukuntanaga, Chairman of GIT, Mr. Phusit Ratanakul Sereroengrit, Director-General of DITP, Mr. Sumed Prasongpongchai, Director of GIT, the Ministry’s executives and officials, and other related private organizations.

On this occasion, Her Royal Highness attended a jewelry fashion show, cut the ribbon to mark the opening of the fair and visit the “Heirlooms of Elegance” exhibition, which showcases the high jewelry design collaboration between SIRIVANNAVARI by the Creative Director HRH Princess Sirivannavari Nariratana Rajakanya, and Beauty Gems. This exhibition not only unveils a high jewelry collection that reflects the princess’s artistic talents and personal inspiration, but also helps inspire the new generation of designers and highlight the prowess of the Thai gems and jewelry that is unparalleled in the global arena. Her Royal Highness also visited the main exhibitors’ booths before returning.

Mr. Phumtham Wechayachai, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Commerce said that as one of the world’s top five gems and jewelry fairs, the largest gems and jewelry fair in Thailand and the longest-celebrated one in Asia, Bangkok Gems and Jewelry Fair has positioned Thailand as the world’s leading gems and jewelry destination. With all types of gems and jewelry products, the fair covers the entire supply chain, from upstream to downstream, providing great opportunities for business networking among Thai and foreign entrepreneurs. The 69th edition features the products and services of up to 1,100 Thai and international companies in 2,500 booths, together with many exhibitions and activities. This 5-day event is expected to attract more than 40,000 visitors and generate more than 3.3 billion Baht in trade value.
