Aetna International collaborates with AstraZeneca in Thailand to support patients with a range innovative acute and chronic disease solutions

Aetna Services (Thailand) Co., Ltd. and AstraZeneca (Thailand) Ltd. have joined forces to establish a pediatric Respiratory Care & Nebulization capability at the Aetna Family Clinic Nichada Thani branch. Equipped with LCD screens the new facility aims to provide young patients dealing with respiratory illnesses with some light entertainment during their nebulization treatment.

“Aetna is the leading specialist health insurance provider with more than 40+ years of experience in Thailand. Our Health Services unit is committed to delivering quality and convenient primary and preventative care both physically and/or virtually, so partnerships across the health ecosystem such as this with AstraZeneca and Omron, are an important way to achieve this objective” said Mr. Damian Delaney, Managing Director of Aetna Thailand.

“AstraZeneca (Thailand) is pleased to launch this Respiratory collaboration with Aetna Health Services, and is focused on improving access to medicine and healthcare innovation. This collaboration brings a proven respiratory solution closer to the patient, improving access across the health ecosystem and ultimately leading to enhanced patient outcomes” said Mr. James Teague, Country President, AstraZeneca (Thailand) Ltd.

This collaboration with AstraZeneca is another example of Aetna’s continuous investment in its health services offering, which includes adding new capabilities in pediatrics, workplace wellness, intravenous therapies as well as home and community care services.

With the purpose of “helping people on their paths to better health” Aetna also launched their vHealth application in 2019. vHealth has experienced exponential year-on-year growth as members sought to avoid crowded hospitals and clinics for non-emergency care, due to the fear of Covid-19 transmission. Aetna’s vHealth app received a Best Product Innovation Award in 2020.
