Mercedes-Benz AG Appointed “Axel Bense” as New Chief Executive Officer for Mercedes-Benz Manufacturing Thailand


Mercedes-Benz AG Germany announced an appointment of Mr. Axel Bense as new Chief Executive Officer of Mercedes-Benz Manufacturing (Thailand) Limited, succeeding Mr. Andreas Lettner who was appointed as new Chief Executive Officer of Mercedes-Benz Manufacturing (Russia) Limited, effective from October 1 onwards. With this appointment, Mr. Axel Bense is responsible for overseeing the assembly of Mercedes-Benz vehicles as well as producing auto parts that include Li-Ion battery for Mercedes-Benz’s electric vehicles at manufacturing facility of Mercedes-Benz Manufacturing Thailand.


Prior to his appointment, Mr. Axel Bense was Chief Executive Officer of Mercedes-Benz Manufacturing (Russia) Limited. He was responsible for overseeing the operation of assembly plant for Mercedes-Benz in Russia with more than 800 employees under his management. Mr. Axel Bense started working with Mercedes-Benz since 1999 at Daimler Chrysler Bremen, Germany. He then moved to Tuscaloosa, Alabama, to head a project for new Mercedes-Benz plant, followed by being appointed as director of production for Mercedes-Benz Truck Vostok, Russia. His tenure as CEO of Mercedes-Benz Manufacturing Russia was his last position before moving to Bangkok to take on the role of CEO at Mercedes-Benz Manufacturing (Thailand) Limited.
